As a life-long lover of all animals, becoming a veterinary technician was an easy decision for Barbara. During her career, she focused on small animal care, which included five years at an exclusively feline practice in Seattle.

After retiring, she moved to Chapel Hill and fell in love with the abundance of nature trails. She is very involved in the local community and has volunteered at the Caring House in Durham and The Jackson Center in Chapel Hill. She also assists seniors with transportation to and from medical appointments through the local senior center, and of course, she never passes up an opportunity to pet sit for a friend or neighbor.

Barbara has two grown sons and now shares her home with three cuddly cats and three delightful dogs – Molly (pictured), Leo the chihuahua, and Huck a Hound mix. In her spare time, she enjoys working with stained glass and making beaded jewelry.
