Kris

Growing up in South Carolina, Kris discovered his love for animals through caring for his family dogs. Working on a farm, he got to care for not just dogs, but also cats, goats, rabbits, chickens, quail, ducks, pigs, and even a horse. More recently, Kris had the opportunity to work with reptiles at Weymouth Woods Nature Reserve, including corn snakes, a rat snake, a pine snake, and an eastern box turtle.

Kris likes to spend time outdoors, hiking in a local park or through his neighborhood. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Intercultural Studies and a Master’s degree in Education. He’s been in the education field as a program specialist, education instructor, middle school science and math teacher, and most recently, a park intern. He is currently working on his second Master’s degree in Parks and Recreation from NC State to pursue a career as a park ranger.

Kris has two 10-year-old Min Pin sisters (Miniature Pinschers) who he adopted in October of 2024, and he just adores looking after them.
