Growing up in Chapel Hill, Cammie can’t remember a time when she didn’t have cats. While furry felines will always have a special place in her heart, she also loves dogs and kids, channelling her fondness for kids into a 25-year teaching career.

After earning a BA from UMass and teaching in Japan for several years, Cammie returned to her hometown to attend the Master of Arts in Teaching program at UNC-Chapel Hill and settled in Carrboro. Soon after leaving her full-time teaching role, she missed her students so much that she decided to start tutoring and has found this work to be incredibly rewarding.

Living her philosophy of a house is not a home without a pet, Cammie has her own clowder of cats and recently added a tuxedo dog to the mix; so far, everyone is getting along well! In her free time, Cammie enjoys traveling, reading, and playing pickleball, and she’s learning to refinish old furniture.
