Carrie

Growing up with a menagerie of rescue animals, Carrie learned the commitment and joy of pet care. She dreamed of inventing the Bark-O-Later, a machine to translate animal sounds into human words. Though that dream remains unrealized, Carrie has devoted much of her time to animals, volunteering for the Humane Society and the Lichterman Nature Center in Memphis, TN, rehabbing wildlife.

After studying music therapy at Lesley University, Carrie worked as a music therapist in Boston before relocating to North Carolina. She fell in love with the area (and her husband!), and they’ve lived there since. Being a client of Walk & Wag made Carrie realize that her next career path was caring for animals, leading her to join the team!

Now in Chatham County, she lives with her husband, two children, two Little Brown Dogs, and a friendly house rabbit. When not managing her household, Carrie tends to her fern and moss garden, plays piano, or reads novels. She also volunteers at Piedmont Farm Rescue, enjoying time with goats, ducks, geese, turkeys, and chickens.
