Originally from south Florida, Rachel studied Health Education and Behavior at the University of Florida. She eventually found her way to North Carolina for a Master of Public Health program at UNC-Chapel Hill.

She’s had pets of her own since early childhood, and she loves animals of all kinds. Her first dog was a beloved Jack Russell Beagle mutt, and her adorable Calico cat still lives back home in Florida. She’s spent time volunteering for the Humane Society and hopes to become a foster parent for a cat in need.

In addition to caring for furry friends, Rachel works in Medicaid consulting and enjoys staying active by running, cycling, rock climbing, and hiking. When she finds herself with free time, she also likes traveling, reading, and eating nutritious meals.
